Bye-bye to another Bachelor couple. Chris Soules and his fiancee Whitney Bischoff have split just two months after viewers watched the season 19 Bachelor propose to his final pick on the finale of the smash ABC reality series. In a joint statement released to Us Weekly on Thursday, May 28, the couple announced their painful decision to part ways.
"Whitney Bischoff and Chris Soules have mutually and amicably decided to end their engagement," the couple told Us in a joint statement. "They part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends. They wish to thank everyone who has supported them through this journey."
Mike Fleiss, the creator of The Bachelor, first broke the news via Twitter.
Sad news to report: @souleschris and @whitbisch are no longer engaged…

Bischoff, 29, edged out finalist Becca Tilley to win over Prince Farming's heart (and a beautiful Neil Lane diamond ring!) on the March 9 season finale of The Bachelor. "I was so stressed out," Soules told Us of his decision at the "Women Tell All" taping in March.
Soules and Bischoff, who recently celebrated six months of engagement, subsequently tackled rumors that they were on the brink of a split while he competed on Dancing With the Stars. "We're together and we're in love," Soules told Us Weekly at the May 4 broadcast of DWTS. "We're making the best of a really cool situation that we're both a part of that's not going to last much longer… We're just normal people living a kind of abnormal life for a couple more weeks."
Indeed, Soules was booted off the show one day later, and Bischoff joined her beau on his family's farm a week after his elimination.
Soules, 33, said in the same interview that he was ready to return to normalcy. "All this," he noted of Hollywood fame and celebrity, "is not real life. L.A. isn't real life for me. Arlington is and Chicago — that's real life and we want to take that step and then we'll make [wedding] plans."

Instead, the couple's romance fizzled out. Bischoff, a fertility nurse, has since returned to her native city of Chicago. Meanwhile, Soules has been busy on his family's Arlington, Iowa farm with planting season.
Their split comes off the heels of another failed relationship for Bachelor Nation. This past January, Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and her fiance Josh Murray announced their breakup in a similar joint statement.
