After his parents separated when he was four, Cejudo’s mother moved the family to New Mexico, and two years later, to Arizona. Cejudo also never slept alone in his own bed until he was provided one by U.S.A. Wrestling while participating in a residency program at the U.S. Olympic training facility. Henry also started competing as an amateur boxer, and won the annual state Copper Gloves boxing tournament in 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona.
