Milla Jovovich’s stuntwoman Olivia Jackson had her arm ripped off when a motorcycle stunt for Resident Evil: The Final Chapter went terribly wrong and now she’s suing the movie’s producers: Paul Anderson and Jeremy Bolt. News of Olivia’s ordeal is going viral Thursday and many people are shocked to hear her side of the story. According to reports, Nelson and Fraenkel represent Olivia Jackson who says she signed an NDA agreement and in exchange for her silence about the injury, producers Paul Anderson and Jeremy Bolt agreed to cover her medical bills. Now, reports say Olivia feels as though they abandoned her after not living up to their end of the agreement.
The near-fatal accident took place in 2015 when Olivia filled in for Jovovich and crashed the motorcycle, headfirst into a camera that was mounted on a crane. The accident not only cost Olivia her arm, but she suffered brain and spinal cord injuries as well. According to Jovovich’s suit, the producers only insured her for $33,000 and though they promised to cover all of her medical bills — they did not. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter made more than $300 million. Jovovich did receive $990 for loss of earnings according to the Daily Mail.
Additionally, Jackson states that the stunt was not properly planned and there were last-minute changes that resulted in the accident.

In addition to losing her arm, the accident also severed flesh from Olivia’s cheek. At 38-years-old, Olivia has become an inspirational voice for those who have found their lives drastically changed in the spur of the moment. Olivia Jackson has over 39,000 Instagram followers and it is likely her social media profiles will go viral following the recent reports of her lawsuit.

Jackson says the $33,000 will barely cover what she will need as she is facing life-long medical issues. It’s been suggested to the Daily Mail by Olivia Jackson’s attorney Julian Chamberlayne that she will need at least 10 more surgeries in her lifetime and each one will cost much more than $33,000. What do you think about this case? Are you going to follow it? Are you surprised that the producers allegedly have chosen not to follow through on their end of the arrangement?
